Interesting article, i see a lot of [these] devices in use over here.
As a small business owner, I need to be able to process payments over the website, so virtual terminal makes a lot more sense to me than a physical one.
Thanks for a great article!

First, the merchant logs on using a unique user name and password - this is a big problem
Hi everyone,
Thanks for reading my blog and contributing comments.
Petar, I'm not sure I understand. Why would it be a problem to log on using a username and password? The place to input this information has the necessary encryption, ensuring security.
Thanks for any further input, Petar, and I truly appreciate your time and consideration.
Best Regards,
Andy

We have used virtual terminals for years. They cost a little more than the physical terminals, but as much as we use them, it's a little cheaper for us in the long run.
Hi Kristina,
Thanks for your comment. Please note that there are merchant account companies that will provide the virtual terminal at no initial cost or for a nominal fee.
It's best, as you already know, to look at the long-term and see which merchant account option is cheaper over time.

This really [makes] a lot of sense if you are having a business that really accepts payments. Virtual terminal processors are really handy at all times.
When choosing a virtual terminal provider, one should check all other aspects of credit card processing, such as: merchant account vs third party processing, fraud management capabilities, merchant tools and reports, rates and payment schedules.

Hi Callie,
The scope of the blog entry was to highlight general aspects of the virtual terminal. However, your point is well taken and business folks should examine the added features (and costs) when opting for a specific virtual terminal and merchant account provider.
